Breaking and Entering…

Most average Monday’s in America are spent complaining about the fact that… Well it’s Monday…

For quite sometime the complaint of Monday hasn’t been one I’ve claimed…

So… Two days ago I’m happy to report Monday… Was… Well eventful…

In the midst of moving… My sister and I needed to get into my grandparents home…

They weren’t home… The house was locked… I thought we had a key… Only to learn… We didn’t have a key…

So the two of us did what any normal young adults would do… We searched the house for an unlocked door… An unlocked window… Even an unlocked dog door would help…

If you know me… Well the truck was packed with things that HAD to go inside… And we WOULD get in!…

So… Right before all efforts were lost we found an unlocked window… One that wasn’t protected by boards to keep people out…

And in we went…

Through all of the laughter and effort I kept thinking about one thing…

That is…

My entire life I’ve been taught that seeking God… Chasing after Him… Well it’s the way to go… The thing to do…

But on Monday God showed me something different…

He showed me that like that house… We have areas of our lives… Of ourselves that are on lockdown… And it seems as though He can’t get in…

But… Just like we searched until we found an entry… His Spirit will search and search until there’s one area that has an easy access… One area were glass doesn’t have to be shattered upon entrance… Once area that will ensure He can enter and help change what needs to be changed…

In this case we had to move boxes in… We took over and placed new things inside… Things that were uncommon to the house…

And that’s what I believe God has the ability to do for us…

When it seems like He can’t get in… Because everything is locked up tight… Because our emotions have us paralyzed… He can completely find a way…

And sometimes… Well sometimes we learn that after its all done… That we had the keys… The ability… The free will all along to let Him in…

But if I knew I had the key (I actually had the key in the truck)… The ACTUAL KEY to enter my grandparents home the ENTIRE time… Well then we wouldn’t have this story… We wouldn’t have the laughs and the moments it took to “break in”…

And I believe that’s how life is sometimes… We have the key… But won’t use it… So He gets in… He gets in, changes us and leaves us with a story that helps us just live a better life…
